Notley Abbey

Notley Abbey is an utterly unique and award-winning country house wedding venue on the Buckinghamshire-Oxfordshire border. This historic residence has been home to a millennium of decadent celebrations of not only Hollywood royalty, but of royalty itself. The Abbey is now uniquely available as an exclusive-use wedding venue in which you can craft your perfect wedding day and create some lifelong memories of your own.

For outdoor ceremonies, Notley Abbey's Walled Garden sits on the site of the old Abbey itself, and is licensed for civil ceremonies. It is a truly unique setting, as parts of the walls that make up the Walled Garden are in fact parts of the ruins of the Abbey, which was dissolved by Henry VIII after the formation of the Church of England. You can choose to walk down a carpet aisle or keep your wedding ceremony a little more rustic by approaching your ceremony on the perfectly manicured lawn.

Following your ceremony, receptions can be held in the grand and beautiful Monks' Refectory or Abbot's Hall, depending on numbers. Guest capacity for an outdoor wedding ceremony is up to 172, but there's always room to invite further evening guests to celebrate with you once your elegant banquet has come to an end.
